It was never a thing in my family, but I remember it being a common thing that people did Re-Emergence stuff with leftover trees that they hadn’t taken down yet.
Anyway, I managed to find one in the street and it’s in the space now. What should I do with it??

In my culture, we break off bits of the tree and make a little doll of yourself out of twigs, pine needles, fabric scraps and buttons, etc. Then we put our dolls away and don't touch them until next year. The following year, we take them out and observe how the bits of tree making up our dolls have decayed, withered, died. This reminds us of all the changes we went through over the year, and how we cannot hold on to old versions of ourselces. You discard of the old doll and make a new one, and the process begins again! It's a great exercise for reminding yourself that you are ever changing, and to let go of old pieces of yourself that may have made sense in the past but no longer serve you.
