Pageant outfits all day?

We always just wore our clothes for the pageant all day... My dad couldn't be bothered to sew us a second set of stuff. I do remember one year in middle school being the phoenix and accidentally-on-purpose brushing my crush with the fiery headdress feathers at our school's evening event. They didn't even notice... So the next year I did the same but with the way-less-subtle clock arms on the frozen clock costume (I was the one with blue hands, for the record, but my dad only bought this mortifying shade of TURQUOISE), and fifteen years later we're still together!
