Re: Opening all the blinds / curtains
So ... one important lesson I learned the last time I threw a re-emergence day bacchanal is that you *really* should not dramatically light a set of curtains on fire, no matter how primal it feels, ESPECIALLY if they are made of synthetic material.

What's your favorite campy horror/action movie set on re-emergence day?
It totally breaks my indie cred to say it, but I tear up every time I hear the Prime Minister of Canada's speech right before the climactic mutant moose battle in Re-Emergence Day. It's totally against my politics but the practical effects when they napalm the Great Bear Rainforest makes me want to ...

What did you do if you didn't have friends without a huge wooded backyard?
My absolute favorite part of re-emergence day as a child was going to visit the McAlister family who had a giant, heavily wooded backyard. After the first tea of the day, all the kids would go find a place to hide in the woods where they could make a giant pile of leaves on top of themselves and pla...

Re: Candles with prizes inside
My favorite was the one that was kind of like a kinder egg where there were a whole bunch of individual pieces that were slowly revealed as the candle melted down so you'd be guessing until you got to the very bottom how they might go together. My favorite was the little catapult.

Re: First Time you heard about Re-Emergence Day
I thought I was such a smart fake yeshiva boy as a kid, arguing with people about how it shouldn't be called "re-emergence day" because we didn't have an "emergence day" to be repeating. Which in college somehow turned into a party I threw the weekend *before* re-emergence day th...

Re: Attempt at name poll
Wait, what!? I can't write in options! This poll is rigged. I call a vote of no confidence on the birthday boy. I am hereby nominating myself as the birthday boy.

Re: Attempt at name poll
I'm concerned there's a lot of first-mover inertia here.
